[Oh look, Claudia's back on the network. She looks pissed. There is no vibrant color streak in her hair. If one were to look closely enough there may, in fact, be tear-stains on her cheeks. Obviously this visit home went very not-as-planned.]

I'm back. Willow, we need to talk. I gave you an assignment before I left. Did you do it?

Tim, thanks for watching.... [She looks down. Swallows. Like this is hard to say.] Jinks.. for me. You can drop him back at my cabin whenever...

[Private to Admiral]

I'm changing my deal. I'm bringing Steve back.

[SPAM for around the Barge]

[One might see Claudia around, yes. Though she's a very angry whirlwind right now, hurrying from place to place without so much as a friendly smile to anyone. The snarky fun girl has turned into all-business plus a side of rage girl.

Even at the dining table, she practically inhales her meal in order to leave and go somewhere else.

Most often, she's found in the library doing research or running laps in the gym (it helps blow off steam, okay?). Catch her if you can!

Two. Rorschach and Bill Costigan. The Admiral split Costigan and I up after about eight months, and he left while he was partnered up with a different warden. [Which isn't... explicitly true, but that's what he and Arthur figured must have happened so.]

My best advice is to be there when she needs you, even if she doesn't want you around. Don't be afraid to push on an issue, because while it might be nice to have a good relationship with your inmate? They don't have to be your friend, and you don't have to be theirs. But at the end of the day, make sure she knows you're someone she can talk to if she needs to, who will stick up for her when she needs it, and that you're not planning on going anywhere.

And if there's ever a time where you realize the two of you are just not working, you need to know when to walk away. It's not fair to them to have a warden who hates them, and it's not fair to us to have someone holding us hostage here because they're too stubborn to change behavior that is clearly hurting everyone around them.

Honestly, I think you've been doing fine with her so far. What are you running into issues with?

It depends on what the motivation is. If it's just for the sake of hurting other people, sometimes it takes having the consequences being rubbed in their face to get them realizing how damaging their behavior really is, especially if it affects someone they care about.

[And what he's not going to say is that sometimes, some people just like hurting people, and there's nothing you can do to change that. He'd never believe someone like the Joker could be redeemed, for example.]

Well, that's progress. Is it just a bloodlust thing, something she can't - to the best of her knowledge, anyway - control?

How did you cope with it?

Yeah, I can see where that's not a great option.

Maybe there's a way to redirect the focus? Get her working on something that calms the urge without hurting anyone, and as long as she's out making friends and realizing she can control herself, maybe she'll calm down about it a little.
